 | The Good Will Fire Company is a 100% volunteer fire service that protects the lives and property of the community of the Borough of West Chester and the surrounding areas of West Goshen Township, Westtown Township, Birmingham Township, East Bradford Township, and the entire township of Thornbury in Chester County. Organized over 170 years ago in 1833 we are one of three volunteer fire companies that provide fire service to our community, together we make up the West Chester Fire Department. The West Chester Fire Department is made up of First West Chester Fire Company, Station 51, Good Will Fire Company, Station 52 and Fame Fire Company, Station 53. The Good Will Fire Company respond to an average of 550-600 alarms per year. We respond to everything from major building fires to auto accidents to fire alarms sounding in a building and any call that our assistance is requested. We have an active crew of approximately 40 men and women that volunteer their time to train and respond to the calls for help in our community. Our members give there time to respond to calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Good Will houses six pieces of apparatus. Our apparatus includes: two Engines, an Air/Light Unit, a Squad vehicle, a fire police traffic unit and our 1952 American La France antique. The Good Will Fire Company recently moved to our brand new building located at the intersection of S. Bolmar St and E. Union St in the Borough of West Chester. We moved from our former building at 36 E. Gay Street. The Building was located in West Chester's central business district. We simply had no room left. Fire Trucks today are larger then what they were when the building was constructed. We thank everyone that donated time and/or money to make the dream reality. |
